Mazda Canada's Plan for a Sustainable Future

Mazda Canada has updated its plans for a sustainable and electrified future towards 2030, which include the introduction of eight new hybrid (HEV), plug-in hybrid EV (PHEV), and battery electric vehicle (BEV) models by 2025. These new models will include the CX-50 hybrid, CX-70 PHEV, CX-90 PHEV, four new hybrid models, and a new BEV SUV to be introduced in 2025.

Furthermore, vehicles like the MX-30 BEV will be available across the nation come next year--and not to mention, two of our other models will have mild hybrid (MHEV) powertrains that are more fuel efficient and produce fewer emissions. Mazda's unique 'Multi-Solution Approach' is to provide various products and technologies that are fitted for local markets' sustainability needs, including highly efficient internal combustion engines.

"We are very excited to be sharing more details about our electrified future in Canada, focused on the right vehicles in the right segments that our customers are asking for," said David Klan, President and CEO, Mazda Canada. "The CX-90 and CX-70 PHEV models coming next year will bring a level of performance above anything we've ever offered in Canada, along with electrified efficiency, and the craftsmanship our customers expect from Mazda."

In Canada, the internal combustion engine is projected to remain in use for decades longer than it was anticipated. Mazda has an opportunity to improve its technology so that by 2025 since BEV models will make up 15% of total sales, and hybrid/plug-in hybrids will contribute 10% by then. This would mean consumers don't have to choose between low emissions or high fuel efficiency when buying new vehicles, further incentivizing the shift towards EVs.

Mazda is committed to a sustainable and electrified future, and its updated plans for 2030 reflect that. With the arrival of eight new models by 2025, Mazda is striving towards providing the right vehicles in the right segments to meet their customers' needs.

With these changes being implemented, consumers can enjoy the benefits of electrified powertrains, as well as the craftsmanship Mazda is known for. This shift towards EVs will encourage more people to switch to electrified vehicles. With these plans being put in place, Mazda Canada is paving the way for a greener future.
